FL Technics implementing next generation mechanics training using VR bookmark

FL Technics, a global provider of integrated aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul service, which is part of Avia Solutions Group, has begun implementing VR modules for the basic training of aviation mechanics.  The company has presented its first VR module, which covers the opening of the reverse thrust engine of a Boeing 737NG, and is set to expand its list of modules in the coming months to cover the full scope of maintenance training.

Qatar Airways and GE sign ground-breaking agreements bookmark

DOHA, Qatar– Qatar Airways and GE Aviation signed multiple agreements yesterday for GE engines. As part of the agreements, Qatar Airways selected the GEnx engine to power its 30 new Boeing 787-9 aircraft along with a TrueChoiceTM Flight Hour agreement to cover the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of the engines. Qatar Airways also signed a TrueChoiceTM Flight Hour agreement for MRO services on its GE9X engine fleet that will power 60 Boeing 777X aircraft. The agreements are valued at over $5 billion (USD).

Paris, 19 June 2019 – EFW’s A321 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion program has proven its attractiveness as EFW signed up two new customers. On the occasion of the Paris Airshow 2019, EFW has now secured two Letters Of Intent (LoI) with a leasing company and an undisclosed airline and will finalize the resulting contracts within the next few weeks.

PARIS, June 18, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Pratt & Whitney, a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX), today announced that JetSMART has selected the Pratt & Whitney GTF™ engine to power 85 firm order Airbus A320neo family aircraft. Pratt & Whitney will also provide JetSMART with GTF engine maintenance through a 12-year EngineWise® Comprehensive service agreement. The first aircraft is expected to be delivered in the third quarter of 2019.

Pratt & Whitney to Power Four Middle East Airlines A321XLR Aircraft bookmark

PARIS, June 18, 2019– Pratt & Whitney, a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX), and Middle East Airlines (MEA) announced today the selection of the Pratt & Whitney GTF™ engine to power four Airbus A321XLR aircraft. This order represents the conversion of option aircraft that were announced as part of a 2018 firm order, and brings MEA’s total firm orders to 15 aircraft. Pratt & Whitney will also provide Middle East Airlines with engine maintenance through a long-term EngineWise™ service agreement as part of the original order.

IndiGo Places $20 Billion U.S. LEAP-1A Engine Order With CFM bookmark

LE BOURGET, France — 17 June 2019 — IndiGo announced today that it has ordered CFM International LEAP-1A engines to power 280 Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft. The contract, which includes spare engines and an overhaul support agreement, is valued at more than $20 billion U.S. at list price.
